Job Description: Occupational Therapist

About Us:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. Our clinicians are our clients’ biggest advocates – championing clients through to their success. We are looking for someone with a strong background in diagnosing and managing disorders affecting activity and participation, as well as a deep commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential. This role will be rewarding for those with a strong desire in supporting people with disabilities to live their best lives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the field is desirable (e.g. 2 years minimum), but new graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • Solid knowledge of the disability sector, including experience working within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), assessment services, and/or private practice.
  • Proven track record of working with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating positive outcomes.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and intervention skills, utilising evidence-based approaches.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children’s Check (WWC), and National Police Clearance (NPC).
  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Possession of a valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Clear understanding of assistive technology (AT) applications to enhance client outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and goals, including functional capacity assessments (FCA), cognitive and sensory assessments and psychosocial evaluations. Provide recommendations for home modifications, assistive technology, wheelchair modifications, and adaptive equipment to enhance independence.
  • Develop individualised therapy plans using evidence-based practices to support clients with physical, developmental, and psychosocial disabilities, focusing on daily living skills, emotional regulation, social participation and executive functioning.
  • Implement targeted interventions for community participation, independent living, and mental health support, adjusting approaches to meet client goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with families, support coordinators, psychologists, speech pathologists and other allied health professionals to ensure a holistic and client-centered approach.
  • Monitor client progress through ongoing evaluation, adapting therapy strategies to maximise functional outcomes and NDIS funding opportunities.
  • Provide education and practical strategies to clients, families, caregivers and support workers, empowering them to implement therapy recommendations and foster long-term independence.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000 – $140,000 per year
