Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Empowering Children with Developmental Disabilities to Reach Their Full Potential

How Occupational Therapy Helps

Occupational therapy is more than just therapy sessions — it’s about giving your child the tools to participate fully in everyday life, no matter their physical, cognitive, or developmental needs. Our experienced paediatric occupational therapists provide holistic support that targets both developmental and physical disabilities.

We work with children on:

  • Cognitive Skills – memory, attention, problem-solving, and transitioning between tasks
  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills – handwriting, coordination, upper limb strength, mobility, and posture
  • Sensory Processing & Emotional Regulation – supporting children to feel calm, focused, and safe in their environment
  • Social Interaction Skills – building confidence in communication, turn-taking, and understanding social cues
  • Daily Living & Independence Skills – dressing, feeding, toileting, hygiene, and using adaptive tools or equipment
  • School Participation & Readiness – improving focus, motor skills for the classroom, and managing school routines
  • Physical Access & Equipment Use – assessing for and training with assistive technology, seating, mobility aids, and environmental modifications

Every child’s therapy plan is individualised and family-centred, designed in close collaboration with parents, caregivers, teachers and other professionals to support meaningful outcomes at home, school and in the community.

Functional Capacity Assessment

We also carry out functional capacity assessments for NDIS funding. These assessments are designed to evaluate an individual’s ability to perform daily activities, such as dressing, grooming, and household tasks. By conducting a functional capacity assessment, we can help our clients to understand their strengths and limitations and identify areas where they may need additional support. This information is then used to develop an individualised plan that is tailored to the specific needs of the client.

With our mobile therapy service and focus on assistive technology and functional capacity assessments, we are able to provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy services that are tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
